Acer unveils its Iconia Tab M500, a Meego tablet powered by an Intel Atom chip

Taiwanese hardware maker Acer barged in on Intel’s press conference at Computex today to unveil a 10inĀ Meego tablet running an Atom processor.

The Iconia Tab M500 appears to sport a similar chassis to the firm’s A500, which comes with Android Honeycomb, and has been designed to offer a user experience similar to “fast food”, according to Acer associate VP David Lee.

Demoing the unit in front of anotherĀ tablet-hungry audience here in Taipei, Lee said that “people are looking for a snacking experience that they can use anytime or anywhere”.
